You don’t need to be spiritual or religious to have a “church”. Think of your church as a place where you seek to be as often as possible. Where you can get centered, grounded and peaceful. A place where you can be mindful, introspective, and connected to your authentic self. Where you can commune with God, or a higher being, if that’s what you believe in.
Where is your church? Is it in your home, bedroom, or garden? Is it on a tennis court, golf course, or beach? Is it on a mountain, on the water, in the air? Is it nowhere in particular? Just a quiet place you can be with your thoughts for a little while?
As a practicing Catholic, I am beyond grateful for the church I get to attend, having visited so many other churches out there that don’t seem to have what we have. I feel very blessed, fortunate, and in the right place.
All the time I find myself learning things I never knew before, as I watch our Monsignor revitalize many beautiful traditions of the church. On a daily basis, our clergy’s (and visiting priest’s) messages resonate with me consistently, in very different ways and on deep spiritual levels. Helping me, as I grow in my faith. I catch myself praising God constantly for them, and asking for continuous blessings upon each one of them.
While I recognize this kind of church isn’t for everyone, my church is truly something I have to have.
