Kind of random, I know! But hear me out!
If you don’t know what this is, a Lazy Susan is basically a turntable or round rotating tray placed on a table or counter. I have a couple of Lazy Susans I use quite effectively in my house.
One is on my center island where I always try to keep a bowl of fresh fruit for the taking. At any given time, the bowl tends to be surrounded by small artifacts of interest and reminders of things. Usually it’s littered with small shells, rocks, coins, missing parts and things that I LOVE but haven’t quite found a home for yet. Because it’s all on a Lazy Susan, anywhere I sit or stand I have access to the contents of that bowl of fruit and/or to gaze upon the small meaningful objects that are there, bringing me quick moments of joy.
Lazy Susans are super useful! I have another one (made of stone) next to my stove. It holds all of the cooking oils, vinegars, salts and peppers. While cooking, it’s so helpful to just spin quickly and easily get what I need without everything toppling over. Clutch!
With the gift giving season here now, a Lazy Susan could make a great gift! Imagine the possibilities! Use them to access everyday toiletries or vitamin bottles. Entertain with them as cocktail prep stations, charcuterie boards, or just as fun platforms to serve cocktails to guests! (Great ideas!)
My dream is to one day have a GIANT Lazy Susan on a round dining table. Where all courses of the meal will fit and we will be able to sit and leisurely partake of each dish, simply by spinning it around to smack-dab in front of us. Luxurious or lazy? What’s the difference? It sounds heavenly!!!
I guess I never realized, but Lazy Susans are just something I have to have.
