Not always…but eventually I am going to need a hair dryer.
I prefer not to bring my own on trips, to conserve space in my suitcase. But for some reason lately, I’ve had to track down the hair dryers in my travels. What happened to the hair dryer being a standard amenity? What’s up with the universe?
For the record, I can go without using one, but I prefer that to be an option. Where it’s my choice to forgo blow drying my hair, not be forced to go without. It’s silly… I know.
I’ve spent multiple hot and humid days in Miami with my LEHIGH girls with no hair dryer in our Airbnb. Receiving many unexpected and kind compliments on our “wavy locks”. I’ve also spent an entire vacation on Block Island without so much as BRUSHING my hair for a week, let alone drying it! But that was totally by choice. It can be done! And it’s wonderful.
If you’ve ever lived with me for more than a day, you know that you would need to be in total distress for me to stop in the middle of blow drying my hair. Not necessarily a good thing, I know. But it is a thing for me. I just feel like I want to have the uninterrupted time, to get it right, so I can proceed with my day. Does that make sense?
I guess that makes access to a hair dryer something I have to have. What’s your thing?
